A little over 3 years ago, Tress and I booked ourselves into an Airbnb. It was in Chapman, a suburb next to where we now live. We stayed there for about 5 weeks, and on arrival, I set up my work space so I could work while we waited and welcomed little Abby. At the end of our stay, we returned to Melbourne. Little did we know then, that we would now live in Duffy. We’d now drive past the street where that Airbnb in Chapman is, almost on a daily basis, when we go visit Kiddo and her mob after work each day. We’d drive past Mount Arawang, and take in the views along Namatjira Drive. That view has the Tidbinbilla range in the background (I think) and plenty of horses and roos in the foreground. I haven’t yet tire of this view, some 15 plus months in. I continue to bask in the warmth of knowing and seeing Tress happy and fulfilled, each day. I don’t feel too shabby myself either.
Last weekend, we celebrated little Abby’s birthday. Just as for last year, we didn’t have to fly up from Melbourne (or make that tiring 7-8 hour drive) for the occasion. Celebrating the occasion as a local Canberrans, along with Abby’s extended mob, was a quiet, contented happy moment.
