Mahathir Reaping What He Sowed


Malaysian ex-PM banned from entering Jerusalem. Maybe he doesnt care about visiting Jerusalem anyway. Even so, to be banned will surely make good fodder for newspapers (and bloggers, of course) and for an ego like his, it must have been painful. I just said a little prayer for him!

  1. For a person who was accused of anti-semistism, that would be the last place for him to go.It’s just like saying Castro is banned from entering US, which he is.

  2. Malaysians are not officially allowed to go there anyway even though it is a holy place for Christians and Muslims as well. Though I have heard that some Malaysians enter from Jordan.

  3. Acute observation by Adam! Malaysia is not allowed to travel into Israel, and Jurusalem, being under Israel regime should be included.Anyways, if he has not been allowed to enter Israel, most probably the immigration officers at the Israel border has read the passport well!I might be wrong, but is Jurusalem under Israel’s rule?

  4. Acute observation? No lah brother (with due respect to Adam). It’s a widely known fact lah. The point isn’t about Malaysian passport restrictions. It was and is about how if one aspires to be a roving international statesman, one should have the foresight to sacrifice immediate gains from sensationalism for the sake of achieving greater things. And yes, Jerusalem is “under Israeli control”. Sort of…
